Maimonides School’s tuition has always been among the lowest
of Boston’s Jewish Day Schools, a direct result of the efforts
of our Board of Directors to maintain affordability for every family
that wishes their children to receive a Maimonides education. We do
understand that exceptional circumstances can occur for families, and
we work hard to be flexible in such situations. For more information
about tuition or financial questions in general, please contact Arline
Tannenbaum, Operations Administrator, at 617-232-4452 x425 (NOTE NEW EXTENSION)
or atannenbaum@maimonides.org.
Income from tuition is the primary source of funding for all operations
at Maimonides, and timely fulfillment of tuition obligations is critical
to our ability to provide the proper educational environment for our
students. Below you will find a description of our tuition policies
and guidelines. Please note that all changes to the tuition policies
are made with the approval of the Tuition Committee.
Tuition and fees must be paid in advance in full or via payment
plans with FACTS
Management Company. Tuition is not refundable except in the case
of the family moving out of the metropolitan area, the student’s
involuntary dismissal, or the student's documented medical disability.
Tuition payments for new students registering after the first day of
school may be prorated by the number of months they will be in attendance,
at the discretion of the Tuition Committee.
After the registration fee is paid, our Operations Administrator,
Arline Tannenbaum, will prepare a tuition contract for your family.
All parents/guardians are expected to complete the tuition contracts
by signing and returning them to the Tuition Committee within 10 days
of receipt of the contract. Payment of the stipulated contract amounts
may be made either in full by July 1 or via a payment plan through FACTS.
On or before July 1, parents/guardians may cancel a Tuition Contract
without payment obligation by making a written request to the Business
Office. On or before August 1, a contract may be cancelled by making
a written request to the Business Office and paying 50% of the contract
amount.
As of August 15, a contract may not be cancelled without payment of
the full contract amount with the exception of the conditions above.
Tuition assistance is available
through the school’s Tuition Committee for parents/guardians experiencing
economic difficulties. Requests for such assistance must be made at
the time of registration. However, since such circumstances are often
unpredictable, parents/guardians should not hesitate to inform the Tuition
Committee of their need whenever it may arise during the year. In the
case of significant changes in family circumstances, a change in financial
aid may be considered upon written notification of the Tuition Committee.
For useful forms and other information, please see our Financial Aid page.
Parents/guardians are expected to meet all financial obligations
by the appropriate due dates. Maimonides School reserves the right to
deny admission and withhold report cards, transcripts, or diplomas of
any student whose parent or guardian fails to promptly meet his/her
financial obligations to the School. Parents/guardians failing to pay
tuition according to the contract, or who have been unwilling to make
suitable alternative arrangements, are subject to rejection of the student’s
readmission to school and/or a summons before a Beit Din (Rabbinical
Court). All tuition and fees previously owed by the parent/guardian
must be paid by July 15 if a student is to be readmitted on the first
day of class for the following school year.
