Gittel’s Kitchen המטבח של גיטל
Gittel's Kitchen, the region's only kosher soup kitchen, is run entirely by Maimonides School students. Founded by Jessica Singer Rich '98 in memory of her mother (whose Hebrew name was Gittel), it first opened on January 8, 1998.
Although the soup kitchen dishes up only kosher food — donated primarily by Milk Street Café — its services are open to all.
Located at Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe, 113 Washington St. in Brighton, Gittel's Kitchen serves food every Thursday night at 5 p.m.
