2006-03-03 For the first time in more than 20 years, a Maimonides School seventh grader has scored a perfect 40 in the annual New England Mathematics League contest. Betzalel Kosowsky-Sachs, son of Seth Kosowsky and Elka Sachs of Sharon, joins Amir Karger '90 (also of Sharon) as the only Grade 7 students from Maimonides to accomplish this feat in the 28-year history of the league.Other top scorers were Danny Poritz (36), Yitzi Snow (38), Ezra Wyschogrod (34), Rivka Rumshiskaya (32) and Tamar Wasserman (32). Top Maimonides scorers in the eighth ghrade contest were Eliezer Mendelev (36), Jerry Pomeranz (34), Zachary Avigan (33), Yiriel Liss (32), Sivan Gompers (30), Ben Niewood (30) and Daniel Yahalom (30).
