Each week has a theme, representing topics of study I love to teach but do not cover during the school year. Each week there will be hands-on activities, experiments, and challenges! Please refer to the schedule below for information about each topic.
Field trips: Each week we will take one field trip. Our past field trips have included The Museum of Science, Glass Blowing Museum, New England Aquarium, Canobie Lake Park, Wards Berry Farm, and Drumlin Farm.
Recess and lunch breaks are scheduled every day. I will provide a healthy snack, but make sure your child has one as well!
Camp Sessions and Themes
Week 1: STEM
Campers spend the week acting and learning like an engineer! Through hands-on projects, campers will gain the experience and confidence they need to design and build! They will create their own projects, games, and inventions. Some of the projects include creating race cars, rollercoasters, towers, robots, and more! Campers will also have the opportunity to code and create games on Scratch. Campers get to bring home many of their projects and designs! This week campers will be exposed to science, engineering, and technology in a fun and challenging way.
Week 2: Art, Food, and the Environment
Campers will explore the science behind art, cooking, and the environment. They will create their own super bubble solution, crystal geodes, and outdoor pendulum paintings. They will create their own mortar for a recycled mosaic masterpiece and a fused glass piece! Campers will experiment with yeast to see how it makes bread rise, temper chocolate, make ice cream, and explore their five senses. They will investigate solar, water, and wind power through various activities and challenges. All week, campers will experiment with color, food, recycling, and green energy in a new and exciting way!
